Language requirements
Check if you have all the requirements in the table
2. How to choose your offer
Identify the Internship Program that reflects the type of internship that you’re interested in and that closely fit your academic background and profile.
Should you wish to obtain academic recognition for the internship found within the international internship programs, please bear in mind that its activities must be previously approved in order to ensure their consistency and coherence with the educational objectives of the study program you are enrolled in.
For example, internships at Italian Chambers of Commerce, Foreign Consulates in Milan and professional firms cannot be recognized for Master of Science students in Management. Generally, also internships at Embassies, Consulates and other Italian Diplomatic Missions cannot be recognized for Master of Science students in Management either.
Should you need additional information on the Internship Programs and specific offers
- One to one Advice: meet the Internship Program Coordinator for individual advice on the opportunities available. Check the program pages for the specific timing:
- Internship reports: read more about previous internship experience by accessing the reserved area
3. How to apply
At each deadline, a number of internship opportunities will be promoted for the International internship programs. The offers will be available on JobGate, in the yoU@B Agenda at the link “Internship Programs”.
In order to apply:
- you may identify one Internship Program and within the chosen one, you may select up to 4 specific offers.
- you may apply to each specific offer by uploading the requested documentation and by answering all the questions that appear in the application form
Each internship program has specific internship periods and deadlines. Please visit the program pages for the updated timing for 2015:
4. Selection process
There is a pre-selection and a final selection. Bocconi staff is in charge of the pre-selection and host institutions are in charge of the final selection.
Pre-selection by Bocconi
After the deadline, applications are pre-selected on the basis of:
- formal requirements (academic and language requirements)
- motivation and background as specified by the host institutions in the internship offers (if needed candidates will be interviewed after the deadline – see the program pages for the specific timing).
Applications that are pre-selected will be forwarded to the host institutions for their final selection.
Please note that up to one application per candidate may be pre-selected for each internship period. Pre-selection is not guaranteed.
Final selection by host institutions
The host institution will proceed to the final selection, according to its internal procedures and timing.
The timing of the selection process is responsibility of the institution and the duration of internships is approximate and could change depending on its needs. Final selection is not guaranteed.
The selection process can be very long and the University staff has only limited influence on this matter.
What happens if you withdraw your application before the final selection?
You may withdraw your internship application without any consequence or penalty until the selection process is over.
5. After the selection
What happens if you’re selected for an internship program position?
Selected candidates will be informed by Bocconi staff or, in some cases, directly by the host institutions. Should this happen, please keep us updated!
Bocconi staff is in charge of keeping contacts with hosting institutions until the selection process is over. For privacy reasons, students are not allowed to contact institutions directly.
What happens if you reject an internship offer after selection?
Except for certified serious reasons rejecting an internship offer after selection will automatically cause exclusion from future pre-selections for Internship Programs during your current academic career. Additionally, in case of interruption and/or renouncement from an internship, no other internship will be formalized for a month, even if found through other channels.
PLEASE NOTE: if you reject a Summer Internship Program offer in favour of participation to Bocconi for Europe no penalty will occur.
Internship applications may be withdrawn with no penalty until the final selection by the hosting institution is completed.
What should you do after selection?
Once you’re selected go to:
- Before you go
- Getting academic credits for a curricular internship
- Scholarships and Erasmus + Program
For any other details on internship recognition and documentation, selected candidates may contact the Internship Office through the Help&Contact procedure available on the yoU@B student Diary.
