Student status

A.Y. 2022-23

The student, according to his situation, can be considered: Resident student, commuting student and non-resident student.

The student status (resident, commuting, non-resident) is linked to the permanent legal address of the student, that is the registered location where the individual has her/his habitual abode (Article 43 (2) of the Italian Civil Code). The student status does not affect the possibility of accessing the scholarship but only the amount of the cash stipend of the scholarship, if awarded.

Please verify below the criteria to determine whether a student is considered resident, commuting or non-resident.

Resident student

Students with permanent address in one of the following municipalities will be automatically assigned the "resident" status.

Commuting student

Students with permanent address in one of the following municipalities will be automatically assigned the "commuting" status.

Important:

"Non-resident" students who do not document their status will be considered "commuting" students.

Non resident status

International students with permanent legal address ABROAD and all other students who are not considered "commuting" nor "resident", can apply for the non-resident status through the online ISU Bocconi Scholarship application and submit the compliant documentation attesting proof of accommodation in Milan (upon payment) according to the methods and deadline specified.

It is specified that the independent student is also considered “non resident” only if he/she uses an accommodation upon payment that must be documented in the Municipality where the attended course of study takes place.

Failure to submit the necessary documentation will result in being assigned the "commuting" status instead of the "non-resident" status.

For more information on the non-resident status and the related documentation, you will find useful information to this webpage.
