ICDL Advanced
ICDL Advanced certifications assess and certify skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level.
There are four different certifications that can be completed separately:
- Advanced Word Processing
- Advanced Spreadsheets
- Advanced Database
- Advanced Preesentation
Bocconi University is a Test Center accredited by AICA to issue ICDL certifications.
All exams are based on a Syllabus, the official document which contains the detailed exam program for each module. You can download the syllabus by clicking here.
Follow the steps below to earn the ICDL Advanced certifications at Bocconi.
1. Purchase Skills Card and exams
In order to take ICDL Advanced exams, you have to own a ICDL Skills Card and purchase one or more ICDL Advanced exams. The Skills Card is a virtual card on which all the ICDL exams that you pass are recorded. The ICDL Skills Card does not have an expiration date. Those who have already completed the ECDL Core can convert their Skills Card Core into an ICDL Skills Card without buying another one (but only if the Skills Card Core has not expired).
You can purchase the Skills Card and the exams only by using the online payment form present in your YoU@B student diary.
The Skills Card price, discounted for Bocconi students, is 60 euros.
Each exam costs 55 euros for Bocconi students.

Exam sessions are held on a monthly basis and users can register for a maximum of two exams during each session.

Bocconi students can register for ICDL Advanced exams autonomously through their yoU@B diary. It is also possible to modify or cancel existing registrations. The modules will be refunded and made available again in the students YoU@B diary. Registration for exam sessions and any changes or cancellations must be completed by 11:59 PM on Thursday of the week before the chosen date.
External users can complete their registration by sending an email to ecdl@unibocconi.it, by 11:59 PM on Thursday of the week before the chosen date, indicating the chosen date and modules. Please remember that, due to organizational reasons, any cancellation request can only be sent by and no later than 11:59 PM of Thursday of the week before the scheduled exam session. After this deadline it will not be possible to refund any exams that were not taken during the scheduled sessions.

3. Prepare for the exams
Throughout the academic year, ITEC organizes courses to help students prepare for ICDL Advanced certifications, which are part of the extracurricular activities. Alternatively, students can prepare for the exams on their own with specialized books.

Participants can practice with sample tests similar to the exam. The sample test can be downloaded by clicking here. By clicking, a .zip file of approximately 20MB will be downloaded directly from the AICA website, containing sample tests for each advanced module.
4. Take the exams
Unless otherwise announced, ICDL Advanced exams will take place in Room 304 (Via Gobbi 5, 3rd floor) on the dates listed on the calendar.
Each exam is made up of 20 exercises to be completed in 60 minutes. To pass the exam, at least 75% of the questions must be answered correctly.
5. Exam result
You will be able to check the outcome of the exam in your private area on the AICA website.
To access your private area, connect to the page: www.aicanet.it (only in Italian) and click REGISTER on top right. On the next page select: REGISTER AS A CANDIDATE and fill out the form, selecting from the certification menu: ICDL. Then, enter your skills card number in the dedicated section (do not enter IT-).

6. Obtain your ICDL Advanced certificates
Exam results and ICDL Advanced certificates (in .pdf format) will be sent directly to the students' email address or, in case of external users, to the email address registered in the Magento system.
After completing three out of the four Advanced certifications, an "ICDL Expert" certificate will be issued.
