CEMS APPLICATION FOR TERM AND DESTINATIONS 2021/2022

(only for CEMS students already admitted to the Program)

Ranking can be made on www.cems.org/selection from 15th of March up to 19th of March.

You will have to register on line, and give the personal information that are requested. Students can express a preference on which term they would prefer to study abroad.

The following CEMS destinations will not be offered so please DO NOT include them in the ranking:

    • AUC Cairo

    • FGV EAESP

    • GSOM St. Petersburg

    • IIMC Calcutta

    • Koç

    • UCT Cape Town

The final allocation will take into consideration average weighted on credits*

  * The calculation of credits thus includes all the exams of the 1st year - 1st semester - study plan officially taken by February 3rd, 2021 (included), end of the ordinary exam session.
Exams which are not part of the 1st year - 1st semester study plan (internship, languages, anticipated exams and anticipated curricular supplementary activities) are not included. The official exam report can be forwarded by the Professor to the Academic Affairs Division even after February 3rd, but it has to refer to the January-February examination session. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that the above-mentioned exams are recorded and registered at the Punto Blu.

It is furthermore specified that for courses subdivided in modules: the credit points and the grades earned for the single modules passed will be taken into account and they can be viewed by printing the unofficial academic transcript at the Punto Blu.

The score  formula will be the following:

Student academic weighted credit average (WA)

                        X

Number of credits earned (NC) divided by the maximum number of credits that can be earned (MAX NC)

In case of equivalent score a higher Bachelor Degree will determine the final allocation. If applicants have equal final scores and equal Bachelor Degree Grade and there is one last slot available for a specific destination, the students' preferences linked to the destination will be used as criteria in order to set the ranking. In case of equal preferences, the Global Alliances Office will require an additional slot to the partner university; in case the partner university refuses our request of additional slots the Global Alliances Office will allocate the candidate by ballot.

As per CEMS guidelines, in general students are invited not to go back to their home country on

exchange. In particular:

  1. HEC does not accept French students or students who did their undergraduate at HEC
  2. TSINGHUA  does not accept Chinese nationals including students from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan
  3. HKUST do not accept Chinese citizen students
  4. NUS does not accept Singaporean citizen students

Please read the following very carefully:

  • students cannot apply for a term abroad in the country where they completed their undergrad. degree
  • Students who will be selected for University of Sydney or LSE must have a valid IELTS. 'Valid' means by the time of the application for the host university and not by the time of the ranking (March 2021).  e.g. students selected for term 1 for LSE should have a valid IELTS roughly by May, according to the application deadline of the host university (for term 2 you can retake it later).
  • Non EU students who wish to apply for extra EU destinations, should be aware that, due to VISA technicalities, they could have their VISA application rejected.
  • Before ranking the destinations, we strongly invite you to check the schools' factsheets on cems.org  where you can find information about the academic calendar, courses portfolio, etc.
