Virtual Exchange Program Fall 20

IMPORTANT: This webpage will be updated with new contents as they become available

The Fall 20 Bocconi Virtual Exchange Program will held entirely online, from September 2020 to February 2021 (with the possibility for students to complete the online semester by December 22). Considering it is an entirely Virtual Exchange, travelling to Milan and to the campus is not foreseen.

ONLINE APPLICATION

All nominated students for the Fall 20 Virtual Exchange will be able to complete the Virtual Exchange online application available at this link starting from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 9.

In order to apply online you will need the USER ID and PASSWORD that will be emailed to you and your Home University coordinator right before the opening of the online application, on July 6.

PLEASE NOTE!: keep very carefully the above credentials since they will be necessary to access all the Bocconi systems, including your Bocconi personal email and student diary (yoU@B agenda).

In the application you will be required to upload the most updated version available of:

  • CV (resume)
  • Grade report
  • Headshot photo
  • Passport/ID personal data page (front and back)
  • Disability certificate issued by the Home University (only for students in need of special accommodations)

IMPORTANT: Considering you are applying for a Virtual Exchange, the Bocconi acceptance letter included in the online application is not meant for Visa and travel purposes and students will not be able to apply for housing.

EDUCATIONAL OFFER

The Fall 2020 virtual exchange educational offer is now available!

Courses that do not appear in the above Fall 2020 course lists are not open to exchange students and will not appear in the course selection platform.

You can find course profiles at this link by typing the course code in the “Search for courses by code and/or title and/or teacher” section.
Important! The content of the course profiles refers to the 2019-2020 academic year. Any updates and/or changes to the profile content (e.g. assessment methods, textbooks, etc.) will be available on 3 September 2020.

The online course selection will run from August 25 - 28, 2020 and classes will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis.  

Students will have the chance to modify their study plan again during the add/drop period, which will run in the period September 9 -16, 2020. 

Online classes will run from September 7 to December 5, 2020, with the possibility for students to join live lectures and/or access recorded classes.

 

STUDY PLAN GUIDELINES

  1. Virtual exchange students are expected to select min. 1 up to max. 5 courses per term.
  2. Undergraduate students can choose only among undergraduate courses (with code 30xxx). Graduate students are allowed to choose both undergraduate (30xxx) and graduate (20xxx and 50xxx) courses.
  3. Students who wish to take all the exams by the December exam session (December 9 - 22, 2020), have to make sure that the classes they select have  no exam conflict. The exam schedule will be available by early August at the following link  www.unibocconi.eu/exams
  4. If two final exams are scheduled on the same day and time, students can select both courses and take the exams in different available sessions. Bocconi University has multiple exam sessions (Fall semester exam sessions: December, January and January/February).
  5. Exchange students are  not allowed to include language courses in their study plan.
  6. Some courses may have specific restrictions: carefully check the "Prerequisites" section available in the course profile.
  7. IMPORTANT: please take note that some courses might have the same contents/program. For this reason, we strongly suggest that you contact the professor/s in charge of the corresponding courses and verify with them the possibility of attending both classes.

FALL 20 ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE VIRTUAL COURSE

The International Student Desk offers Virtual Exchange students a beginner-level online course to help them familiarize with the Italian Language and Culture and acquire useful everyday conversation skills.

This full immersion, intensive course (20 hours) lasts two weeks and is offered before the start of Bocconi classes, beginning in late August. Virtual Exchange students will gain a general understanding of Italian language and culture and of aspects related to intercultural communication. Lessons are taught by professional, experienced and qualified Italian professors, who will also hold one-to-one tutoring sessions with students.

This is an optional, non-credit bearing extracurricular course, hence not included in the official Bocconi transcript nor in the student’s study plan.

Classes will be streamed live and recorded, so that students can access them at any time on the course platform.

How to sign up:

Students interested in the Fall 20 Italian Language and Cultural Virtual Course can register from July 6 to July 9, by completing the online registration form sent to Virtual Exchange students by email.

Registered students are required to pay a €70 fee, from July 10 to July 13, through the Paytool platform, according to the instructions that students will receive.

A refund is foreseen only if the course is cancelled due to the lack of participants.

 

Virtual Exchange students will receive further details as they become available.

VIRTUAL INFO DESK

The Virtual Info Desk service allows students to clear any doubts about the Virtual Exchange, from academics to administrative matters and extracurriculars, thanks to the dedicated assistance of the ISD team members.

Students can choose to schedule a remote a 15-minute one-to-one appointment. 

One-to-one remote appointment:  

  • Dates: the service will be available  from September 28 through December 18, on:  
    • Mondays: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm (Italian time)  
    • Fridays: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm (Italian time)  
  • Where: Blackboard Collaborate platform. Students will receive the link by email upon registering. 
  • Registration (compulsory): through the Appointments tool available on the left handside menu of the  yoU@B agenda
  • Cancellation: students can cancel their appointment up until 12am (midnight) of the day before the appointment
