Covid-19 Emergency: check out July 2020
MANAGEMENT OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS DURING THE SUMMER PERIOD
The closure of the Bocconi residence halls for a.y. 2019-20 is foreseen for July 22nd, 2020 at noon.
In compliance with the regional dispositions for the containment of the Covid-19 infection, and in order to preserve the health of all its student, Bocconi University will need to proceed in a timely manner to the sanitization of the residence halls, including common areas and rooms.
In detail, the residence management, already in charge of cleaning and maintenance as commissioned by Bocconi University, will proceed to carry out the following operations, with particular attention to items possibly left in the rooms:
- Paintings: until June 21st all the common areas and the rooms already free from people and items (i.e. already vacated rooms) will be painted. Starting from June 22nd the paintings will proceed for all the other rooms, including those where students are still present or that have not yet been completely emptied.
- Cleaning: after the paintings, a deep cleaning of all the rooms and areas will be carried out
- Sanitization: after the paintings and the cleaning a complete sanitization will be carried out, by the mean of saturation with hydrogen peroxide.
Given the difficulties that each student might have in organizing autonomously all the activities of tidying up and/or vacating the room from personal belongings - those activities being necessary and essential in order to carry out a correct sanitization of the spaces - you will hereby find all the possible solutions for the management of personal belongings left in the rooms by students.

notify it to the office by June 14th,
2020 through the completion of the online procedure
CHECK OUT 2020
We kindly ask to fill out the online procedure also to all students that have already vacated or ordered their room, in order to confirm their final check-out.
If you have renewed your room for a.y. 2020-21
You are entitled to leave your personal belongings in the room, as long as they are all tidily placed inside cupboards and drawers, and that nothing is left on shelves. By filling out this form you can choose among the following options:
- You will PERSONALLY vacate
/ tidy up your room: you may come back to the
residence, in compliance with all the dispositions in force for the
containment of the infection, and proceed to tidy up your room, putting all your personal belongings inside the cupboards, drawers and
show racks until their capacity is full. You may not leave anything
outside the cupboards, therefore you will have to organize the transport
of all the items that you will not manage to put inside the cupboards. In
the online procedure, you will be required to indicate the date in which
you want to arrive to the residence and your final check-out date (in any
case by July 22nd, 2020);
- DELEGATE a person of your choice (friend or
relative) to vacate / tidy up your room. For the delegate, the same rules indicated
above will be valid: the delegate will proceed to tidy up your room by collecting all your
personal belongings and putting them inside the cupboards, drawers and show racks until their
capacity is full. Nothing may be left outside the cupboards, therefore
your delegate will have to organize the transport of all the items that
he/she will not manage to put inside the cupboards.
The intervention of your delegate will mark your check-out 2020. The check-out procedure will be completed once the residence management responsible will have verified that the room is completely tidied up / vacated.
- Make use of the support of PROFESSIONALS of the sector so that they proceed, upon payment, to tidy up and collect all your personal belongings, putting them inside the cupboards, drawers and show racks until their capacity is full. In case of items that may not be placed inside the cupboards for their particular shapes or dimensions, the professionals will put them into dedicated boxes that will be placed and guarded in the residence warehouse until all the spaces available will be full, or in other dedicated spaces established by Bocconi. You will be able to retrieve your boxes until September 30th, 2020. As an alternative, you may ask the professionals to send you your boxes at home, if available. The service is upon payment: please verify modalities, contract definition with the relevant companies and fees applied on the dedicated webpage.
Please note that all edible items will be disposed for hygienic and safety reasons.
If you have not renewed your room for a.y. 2020-21
By filling out this form you can choose among the following options:
- You will PERSONALLY vacate your room: you may come back to the
residence, in compliance with all the dispositions in force for the
containment of the infection, and vacate your room completely, in this way
completing your final check-out by July 22nd, 2020, the
established date of closure of the Bocconi residence halls. In the online
procedure, you will be required to indicate the date in which you want to
arrive to the residence and your final check-out date (in any case by July
22nd, 2020);
- DELEGATE a person of your choice (friend or
relative) to vacate your room. The final check-out may be completed by a
person of your choice, that you will delegate for vacating, packing and
withdrawing of all your personal belongings.
The check-out procedure will be completed once the residence management responsible will have verified that the room is completely vacated.
- Make use of the support of PROFESSIONALS of the sector so that they proceed, upon payment, to the packing and possible subsequent transport of the belongings left in the room. The professionals will put all your belongings in boxes that will be placed and guarded in the residence warehouse until all the spaces available will be full, or in other dedicated spaces established by Bocconi. You will be able to retrieve your boxes until September 30th, 2020. As an alternative, you may ask the professionals to send you your boxes at home, if available.
