Learning Needs Help Desk and Tutoring Project

Learning Differences at Bocconi University: Support for university students with learning disorders

Learning disorders are a reality for many university students who will one day become accomplished and skilled professionals. While having dyslexia or dyscalculia is by no means an impediment to academic or professional success, the presence of these neuro-differences requires extra care when studying. It may be necessary to develop a strategic study method tailored to meet students’ specific needs while at the same time optimizing their areas of strength.

Bocconi University is offering a dedicated Learning Needs Help Desk for all students with academic needs. In addition a peer-to-peer student tutoring program is offered to students with learning disorders.

Help  Desk

The Learning Needs Help Desk service is designed to offer each student with learning needs the chance to receive specialized counseling customized to their own situation.

The desk will offer students with learning needs an opportunity to learn more about the way their brain works, become fully aware of their cognitive resources, and receive hands-on tips on how to optimize their study methods given their unique situation and needs.

The service is available in Italian and in English by appointment, in person or online, every Thursday, from 11 am to 2 pm from 31 August 2023 to 31 May.

To book an appointment, please write an email to learningneeds.hd@unibocconi.it

The service is carried out by Milena Milani, Educational Psychologist and Psychotherapist and member of the British Dyslexia Association.

Peer to Peer Tutoring Project

Are you a certified student with a DSA? This project is designed for you!

Through this project you will have the opportunity to receive peer support from Italian and international Bocconi student volunteers who have participated in a training meeting on DSA issues.

By participating in the Peer to Peer Tutoring Project you will meet your fellow student(s) who will support you in studying and preparing for exams
All phases of the project will be coordinated by Dr. Milena Milani, an educational psychologist and member of the British Dyslexia Association.

The Peer to Peer service is now active for the second semester.
