Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to work for the United Nations. What I have learned at Bocconi has allowed me to understand the underlying dynamics of public management, it has prepared me for the difficulties and the peculiarities of the public sector, teaching me how to improve processes and services in international organizations. Working as a young international civil servant is not a straightforward or easy path: for many of us, contracts are short and uncertain, you need to be adaptable to a challenging international environment, you need to be flexible to be relocated around the world – but that’s also what makes it fascinating.
