The US Italy Fulbright Commission

Fulbright specialist programme

The US-Italy Fulbright Commission, in collaboration with the US Department of State and the non-profit organisation World Learning, invites applications for the Fulbright specialist programme. This offers Italian universities and research institutions the opportunity to invite US faculty members to serve as lecturers or consultants for a period of two to six weeks.

The proposed US faculty members must be fully registered Fulbright specialists. If a university wishes to invite an individual who is not already a registered specialist, it must submit an application to World Learning.

Eligible Fulbright specialists may be experts in any of the following fields: agriculture, North American studies, anthropology, archaeology, biology, business administration, chemistry, communications and journalism, economics, education, engineering, environmental science, computer science and information technology, law, library science, mathematics education, peace and conflict resolution studies, physics, political science, public administration, public and global health, social work, sociology or urban planning. Invitations to experts in climate change, cyber security and IT, entrepreneurship, disaster response, media literacy and countering disinformation, public administration, public and global health, and STEM are particularly encouraged.

The specialist’s salary, health insurance and flight costs are covered by the US Department of State while board and lodging and local travel expenses are to be paid by the host university.

Placements may be organised any time between 1 January 2023 and 30 September 2023.
