Evening on the Town: Clubs and Bars

Clubs

One of the coolest areas for clubbing and distoteques in Milano is the Corso Como area, especially since the new Piazza Gae Aulenti area has been on the map and Eataly opened in Piazza XXV Aprile. The clubs around there are generally on the fancier side and rather expensive, but there’s always something to do and people to meet! You can try Clubroom Eleven, an upscale locale with progressive house music and drinks for around €10. Be sure to check out the rooftop bar! Or go to Hollywood, which has a bit of a reputation for taking themselves too seriously. The music is progressive house and entrance fees and drinks are pretty expensive. Another upscale option is Armani Privé, often frequented by celebs, but with an older crowd and on the expensive side.
Clubs in other areas include: Just Cavalli, very cool with house music and outdoors in the summer. Celebs can be seen here, but that also means it’s on the expensive side. Bocconi students tend to come on Thursdays. Old Fashion Café, outdoors in the summer in Parco Sempione, it also has a restaurant and it’s the same area as Just Cavalli.  Le Banque, located in a former bank (hence the name), it’s more commercial and is very close to the Duomo. Circle, here you can find lots of Bocconi students on Tuesday nights and enjoy a chill atmosphere. Alcatraz, this place is more underground and there are 3 different areas featuring various types of music. Magazzini Generali, another underground place with tech-house music. Drinks are €8 and it has the best line-ups of international DJs, so check the schedule. Plastic, it has tech-house and minimal and is very gay friendly. Tunnel, electronic at it’s best, the club also has indie nights.

Bars

If your scene is more about hanging out with drinks and not dancing the night away, Milano’s got you covered! There are two great areas for pubs or fancy cocktails. The first is Brera, the most fashionable area of Milano with lots of great fancy shops and lots of beautiful bars. It’s a great place to get your night started before hitting up a club. The other area is the Navigli area, a special neighborhood because it surrounds the famous Navigli canals. There are many different types of bars and restaurants making it a unique part of town. Some cool places include La Fontanella, an hip place serving beers of all shapes and sizes, up to 18 liters! Or try Trattoria Toscana, which is very popular among Bocconi students because of its chill atmosphere on comfy couches and plants everywhere.
