Spring 21 Virtual Exchange Program

IMPORTANT: This webpage will be updated with new contents as they become available

Spring 21 Virtual Exchange students cannot access (and take advantage of) any of the Bocconi on-campus services and facilities, including Bocconi dorms. Travelling to Milan and to the campus is not foreseen.

ONLINE APPLICATION

All nominated students for the Spring 21 Virtual Exchange will be able to complete the Virtual Exchange online application available at this link starting from Tuesday December 1st to Thursday, December 3rd.

In order to apply online you will need the USER ID and PASSWORD that will be emailed to you and your Home University coordinator right before the opening of the online application.

PLEASE NOTE: keep very carefully the above credentials since they will be necessary to access all the Bocconi systems, including your Bocconi personal email and student diary (yoU@B agenda).

In the application you will be required to upload the most updated version available of:

  • CV (resume)
  • Grade report
  • Headshot photo
  • Passport/ID personal data page (front and back)
  • Disability certificate issued by the Home University (only for students in need of special accommodations)

IMPORTANT: Considering you are applying for a Virtual Exchange, the Bocconi acceptance letter included in the online application is not meant for Visa and travel purposes and students will not be able to apply for housing.

EDUCATIONAL OFFER

The Spring 2021 virtual exchange educational offer is now available!


Courses that do not appear in the above Spring 2021 course lists are not open to exchange students and will not appear in the course selection platform.

You can find course profiles at this link by typing the course code in the “Search for courses by code and/or title and/or teacher” section. The content of the course profiles refers to the 2020-2021 academic year. 

The online course selection will run from January 12 - 15, 2021 and classes will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis.  

Students will have the chance to modify their study plan again during the add/drop period, which will run in the period February 9 -16, 2021. 

Online classes will run from February 4 to May 8, 2021. Detailed information about the teaching format will be shared as soon as it becomes available.

STUDY PLAN GUIDELINES

  1. Virtual exchange students are expected to select min. 1 up to max. 5 courses per term.
  2. Undergraduate students can choose only among undergraduate courses (with code 30xxx). Graduate students are allowed to choose both undergraduate (30xxx) and graduate (20xxx and 50xxx) courses.
  3. Students who wish to take all the exams by the May exam session (May 12 - 31, 2021), have to make sure that the classes they select have  no exam conflict. The exam schedule is available at the following link www.unibocconi.eu/exams
  4. If two final exams are scheduled on the same day and time, students can select both courses and take the exams in different available sessions. Bocconi University has multiple exam sessions (Spring semester exam sessions: May, June/July).
  5. Exchange students are not allowed to include language courses in their study plan.
  6. Some courses may have specific restrictions: carefully check the "Prerequisites" section available in the course profile.
  7. IMPORTANT: please take note that some courses might have the same contents/program. For this reason, we strongly suggest that you contact the professor/s in charge of the corresponding courses and verify with them the possibility of attending both classes.
  8. THEMIS students can find further information about courses approved by the Themis network and program requirements at the Themis webpage. For further information on Themis requirements, please refer to themis@unibocconi.it.
  9. CEMS students are required to select their courses from a CEMS specific list. For further information on CEMS requirements, please refer to cems@unibocconi.it.

SPRING 21 ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE VIRTUAL COURSE

From January 21st to February 2nd 2021 Exchange students will have the chance to participate in the Spring 21 Italian Language & Culture Virtual Course, a fun immersion into the world of Italian civilization meant for beginners and pre-elementary level learners.  Expert professionals in the teaching of the Italian language will take you through a fascinating journey through Italian and Milanese culture, all the while helping you acquire useful everyday conversation skills and familiarize with the Italian language. 

How to sign up:

Students interested in the Spring 21 Italian Language and Cultural Virtual Course can register by completing the online registration form sent to exchange students by email.

Registered students are required to pay a €70 fee through the Paytool platform, according to the instructions that students will receive by email.

Please note: only registered students will be able to complete the payment. Only students who complete the payment will be officially enrolled in the course. 

This is an optional, non-credit bearing extracurricular course, hence not included in the official Bocconi transcript nor in the student’s study plan. No final test is foreseen. Upon request, students will receive a certificate of completion (with no evaluation or credits). 

A refund is foreseen only if the course is cancelled due to the lack of participants. No refund is foreseen in case of any technical issues single students may encounter (e.g platform, internet connection, etc…).

VIRTUAL INFO DESK

The Virtual Info Desk service allows students to clear any doubts about the Virtual Exchange, from academics to administrative matters and extracurriculars, thanks to the dedicated assistance of the ISD team members.

Students can choose to schedule a remote 15-minute one-to-one appointment.

Dates: the service will be available from February 10 to the end of May with the following schedule:

  • Mondays: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (Italian time)
  • Wednesdays: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm (Italian time)
  • Fridays: 9:30 am – 10:30 am (Italian time)

Where: Blackboard Collaborate platform. Students will receive the link by e-mail upon registration

Registration (compulsory): through the Appointments tool available on the left-hand side menu of the yoU@B agenda

Cancellation: students can cancel their appointment up until 2 hours before the appointment
