Wellness Courses

Campus Life offers many opportunities to improve your awareness of the relationship between mind and body and to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle, thus achieving a psychophysical balance and all-around personal health.
Here you can find courses organized for you that are held on campus and with a calendar that matches your academic schedule.

Hara Yoga

Hara Yoga is a practice that draws on various areas of interest in Eastern tradition, offered as a valid tool for achieving psychophysical balance.

Placing oneself in harmony with the source of life energy located in the stomach (HARA), muscular strengthening and resistance are improved and joints are freed from states of excessive tensing and lack of flexibility.

The course offers a variety of useful and stimulating techniques. Each lesson will have different rhythms: energetic and focused (WASA), slower and more intense (KRIYA), purification exercises (DHAUTI) as well as keeping still in several positions (ASANA). The study and control of breathing (PRANAYAMA), our primary source of energy, is at the basis of each technique proposed.
As instructions will be given both in Italian and in English, this course is  available also to English speakers.

Comfortable clothing should be worn.

The course will be held in English.

Introduction to meditation

What was the first thing you did when you were born?

Try to remember.

You took a breath! You made your first sound using your voice.

Consciously returning to using your breath means not forgetting how it can us teach the variations of the rhythm and space inside us, and how it can coordinate and affect our thoughts and actions.

Knowing how to control breathing and modulate it is a technique that in India is called Pranayama (Yama: control, Prana: breath or life energy).

Listening to one’s breath and having control over it is the best way to learn to be centered quietly and without tension by being in the here and now.

Meditation is an ancient practice whose benefits have been scientifically proven to reduce stress, calm down emotions, and improve clarity and concentration. It provides profound benefits if practiced over the long-term, by modulating and modifying parts of the brain.

Meditation is an educational process, it is not the desire to feel and achieve something else by connecting to oneself. It is not practiced to reach some future goal, nor to change the memory of the past. Meditation is considering in the here and now the full beauty of one's breath and one's being.

Through the stillness of meditation, you will learn to immerse yourself in the only reality that exists, YOU.

The course will be held in English.
