We are a social and human science department dedicated to the study of institutions and public policies, focusing on their design, management, development and evaluation over time. The knowledge we generate is aimed at providing solutions to the most urgent societal problems, ensuring world-class teaching and being a civil and cultural point of reference.
Reaching a deep understanding of complex societies requires crossing the disciplinary boundaries and being context-based. For this reason, we strive to set a research environment open to cooperation across fields and to dialogue with practitioners. Our studies are theoretical, empirical, both cross-sectional and longitudinal, and they embrace a variety of research methods. Our educational offer, at the level of undergraduate, graduate, PhD and executive programs, is characterized by the variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches.
