SIEL Conference 2020 Postponed
2020 Global Conference of the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL)
Reshaping Global Economic Governance for the 21st Century
Important notice: in the light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Conference has been postponed from 9-11 July 2020 to 2021 (new dates to be announced shortly).
Following successful conferences in Geneva (2008), Barcelona (2010), Singapore (2012), Bern (2014), Johannesburg (2016) and Washington D.C. (2018), the 7th SIEL Global Conference will take place at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
The central theme of the Conference will be Reshaping Global Economic Governance for the 21st Century. The Conference will take stock of the developments that have led to where international economic law (IEL) and governance stand today, focusing on the current crisis of the multilateral rules-based economic order, and what changes should be made to the existing rules and institutions to allow them to respond better to the challenges of the 21st century.
The conference will bring together academics, legal practitioners, officials of states and international organizations, and representatives of NGOs, who will address a wide array of issues through individual papers and posters, panel discussions, and keynote speeches.
