The “Policies for Smart Specialization” (POLISS) program is a European Training Network (ETN) project (H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019 Project "Marie Sklodowska-Curie") in partnership among eight Universities and it is embedded within Bocconi PhD in Business Administration and Management (BAM) – curriculum Management.

Smart Specialization is a recent innovation policy concept (developed by the “Knowledge for Growth” Expert Group) at the core of the European 2020 agenda to develop a sustainable, smart and inclusive growth.


The program refers to 2020-21 cohort of students only.

      Early Stage Researchers (ESR):

      Each University selects its early stage researchers (ESR); the overall number is 14; Bocconi selects 2 ESR (n. 2 and 3). The broad topic of their research is related to process of entrepreneurial discovery and the role of the urban and regional ecosystems, with particular but not exclusive reference to the role knowledge institutions and accelerators
