Mia Cvjianovic

Msc in Economics and Management in Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment

I always wanted to study abroad. Not because I didn't like being in my home country. On the contrary, I was always happy and aware of how lucky I am having my family and friends back home. But I was also sure I needed something more. Something more challenging, more motivating, an environment that gives a play yard of opportunities waiting to be conquered. That is exactly what Bocconi gave to me. A possibility to shape myself both on academic and personal level.

Five years ago I enrolled into the a course now called Bachelor in International Economics, Management and Finance. There were hard parts such as facing demanding exams, working hard not to miss the deadline for an assignments etc. But all this just made every passed exam and every grade even more valuable, and made me more proud of my accomplishments.

During the three years of my undergraduate course, I faced with subjects like mathematics ( so important at Bocconi), international economics, management, legal system, business law, corporate finance. Even though, some of these subjects were not my thing, group works, class attendance and professors' availability and professional approach made me pass these exams with no difficulties.

One of the greatest things about being a Bocconi student is the fact that you are a part of a huge international community. It is amazing having classmates from all parts of the world and exactly this combination of academic excellence and multicultural experience is making Bocconi and its students so special and successful.

I believe it is great that Bocconi is encouraging its students to always be active. That is how I attended one of the international programs, Erasmus, and got the chance to spend memorable six months in Lisbon, at one of many partner universities Bocconi has. After the second year I also got the chance trough Internship office to do a 3 months long internship at UNICEF in Rome.

After my undergraduate program, without any hesitation, I continued my education at Bocconi, at Master of Science in Economics and Management in Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment.

While writing my final thesis I had the chance to work within the International recruitment and guidance office at Bocconi.

I believe that Bocconi University is a right place for young people who want to become educated cosmopolitans able to fit in to all the environments around the world.

Mia is now working for a leading global business and strategy consulting firm.
